Brown Sugar Banana Pancakes (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
02 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
03 - ¼ teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

04 - ¾ cup mashed ripe banana (about 2 small bananas)
05 - 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter (plus more for greasing griddle)
06 - 1 large egg
07 - ¾ cup buttermilk
08 - ¼ cup packed dark brown sugar
09 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

→ Optional Toppings

10 - Butter
11 - Maple syrup
12 - Sliced banana
13 - Walnuts
14 - Chocolate chips

# Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
02 - In a separate bowl, whisk together mashed banana, melted butter, egg, buttermilk, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
03 - Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir with a rubber spatula until just combined. Avoid overmixing the batter.
04 - Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium-low heat and grease with butter. Drop the batter in approximately ⅓ cup portions onto the griddle, spreading out to form even circles. Cook until bubbles begin to form, then flip and cook until fully cooked. Ensure the heat is not too high to prevent uneven cooking.
05 - Serve hot pancakes with your choice of butter, maple syrup, sliced banana, walnuts, or chocolate chips.

# Notes:

01 - For best results, fluff the flour before measuring and level it off with a knife to prevent dense batter.
02 - If you don't have buttermilk, use a substitute such as milk with lemon juice or vinegar.
