Add the pasta to the skillet. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover, reduce heat, and simmer until the pasta is cooked through, approximately 13-15 minutes.

Remove the skillet from heat. Top with shredded cheese and cover until melted, about 2 minutes. Serve immediately with optional garnishes like sour cream, avocado, and Fritos.
