Crispy from the oven (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2.2 lbs (1kg) waxy potatoes (baby potatoes work best)
02 - 3 tablespoons olive oil
03 - Salt
04 - Freshly ground black pepper
05 - Sweet paprika powder

# Instructions:

01 - Thoroughly wash the potatoes and cook them with their skins on in a pot of boiling salted water for about 15 minutes until tender. Alternatively, you can use leftover boiled potatoes from the previous day to save time on this step.
02 - Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) conventional heat. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
03 - Place the cooked potatoes (with skins) on the prepared baking sheet and carefully flatten each one using a potato masher or the bottom of a bottle. The potatoes should be flattened but not completely broken apart.
04 - Brush or spray the flattened potatoes with olive oil. Then generously season them with salt, pepper, and paprika powder.
05 - Bake the prepared potatoes in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until they're golden brown and crispy around the edges.

# Notes:

01 - These smashed potatoes can be varied to your taste - for example, by sprinkling grated cheese over them 5 minutes before the end of the baking time.
02 - The potatoes make an excellent side dish for grilled meats or can be enjoyed as a snack with a delicious dip.
03 - Small potatoes (baby potatoes) are ideal for this recipe because they're the perfect size and get especially crispy.
