Easy Baked Cheese Tortellini (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meat

01 - 1 pound ground beef

→ Spices and Seasonings

02 - 3 large cloves garlic, minced
03 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
04 - ¾ teaspoon dried basil
05 - ½ teaspoon dried parsley
06 - ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
07 - ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
08 - Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
09 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

→ Sauces

10 - 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara or pasta sauce

→ Pasta

11 - 1 (22-ounce) package frozen cheese tortellini

→ Cheese

12 - 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, grated (about 2 cups)
13 - 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 3-quart baking dish and set aside.
02 - In a large pot set over medium heat, brown ground beef and garlic until meat is no longer pink, breaking it up and stirring frequently. Drain fat.
03 - Season the cooked meat with garlic powder, dried basil, dried parsley, dried oregano, dried thyme, crushed red pepper flakes (if desired), salt, and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
04 - Stir pasta sauce into the cooked ground beef. Pour frozen tortellini into a colander and run under warm water for a minute to slightly thaw. Drain and stir tortellini into the meat sauce.
05 - Remove the pot from heat and stir in half of the grated mozzarella. Transfer the tortellini and meat sauce mixture into the prepared baking dish.
06 - Top with the remaining grated mozzarella and sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
07 - Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
