Easy Sautéed Mushrooms Spinach (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
02 - 1 pound mushrooms (cremini, button, or a mix), sliced
03 - 4 cups fresh spinach
04 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
06 - Salt, to taste
07 - Black pepper, to taste
08 - Optional: A handful of fresh parsley or red pepper flakes for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Wash the mushrooms thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel. Slice them evenly to ensure even cooking. Clean the spinach and set it aside. Mince the garlic and juice the lemon.
02 - In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
03 - Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Stir occasionally for 5–7 minutes until the mushrooms soften and turn a deep brown color.
04 - When the mushrooms are almost fully browned, add the minced garlic. Sauté for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning the garlic.
05 - Once the garlic becomes fragrant, add the spinach. Toss the spinach gently to mix it with the mushrooms and garlic.
06 - Season the dish with salt and black pepper to taste. Add a tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Toss everything together until combined.

# Notes:

01 - For a richer variation, stir in a splash of heavy cream or a dollop of crème fraîche just before serving.
02 - To add heat, include a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or diced chili peppers to the garlic while cooking.
