Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Add the ground beef and onion to a large skillet and cook until browned and cooked through. Add the garlic towards the end of browning and cook for another minute. Drain any excess fat.

Add the green chiles, taco seasoning mix, salsa, black beans, corn, and 2 cups of the cheese. Stir together to combine. If your skillet isn’t large enough, transfer the mixture to a casserole dish for combining.

Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch casserole dish. Arrange frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.

Pour the enchilada sauce evenly over the top of the casserole.

Bake uncovered for 30–40 minutes or until the tater tots are crispy.

Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheese on top and bake for another 2–3 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

Serve hot with optional toppings such as cilantro, sour cream, avocado, and tomatoes.
