In a small bowl, stir together the butter, garlic powder, parsley flakes, Parmesan cheese, and salt until evenly combined.

Using a butter knife, spread the garlic butter mixture on one side of each slice of bread.

Place half of the bread slices, buttered side down, into a preheated nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add slices of cheese on top, then cover with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.

Cook the sandwiches, flipping halfway through, until the bread is golden brown, the Parmesan cheese is crisp, and the cheese inside is melted.
