Pan Fried Asparagus Skillet (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound asparagus
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 1/2 cup onions, sliced
04 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
05 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
06 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
07 - 1/8 cup grated parmesan cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Place the asparagus on a cutting board and cut or break off the ends (about 1 inch) and discard. Cut the remaining stalks into 1 1/2 inch pieces.
02 - Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
03 - Add the onions and cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes or until softened.
04 - Add in the asparagus, salt, and black pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the desired firmness is reached.
05 - Add in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
06 - Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese and serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Asparagus stalks come in varying sizes and thicknesses. Medium-thickness stalks are recommended. Adjust cooking time for thinner or thicker spears.
