Wash (or peel) the cucumbers and slice them very thinly. Sprinkle with salt, mix well, and let stand for about 30 minutes to draw out excess water. Transfer the cucumbers to a colander and gently squeeze out the liquid.

Mix the dressing by combining sour cream, vinegar, a pinch of sugar, pepper, and oil in a bowl. Add the dill and stir until smooth (or shake in a dressing shaker).

Finely chop the onion and add to the cucumbers. Combine cucumbers with the dressing and serve.
