Red Velvet Oreo Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 ⅓ cups flour
02 - 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
03 - ¼ teaspoon salt
04 - ¾ teaspoon baking soda
05 - ½ cup butter, room temperature
06 - ⅓ cup granulated sugar
07 - ⅔ cup brown sugar
08 - 1 egg
09 - Approximately 1 teaspoon red food color gel
10 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
11 - ½ cup white baking chips or chopped white chocolate
12 - 7 Oreo cookies, crushed

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
02 - Mix flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda together in a small bowl.
03 - In a larger mixing bowl, cream butter and both sugars together for about a minute.
04 - Add the egg, red food color gel, and vanilla extract, and beat until combined.
05 - Add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
06 - Stir in white baking chips and crushed Oreos.
07 - Drop tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined or ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
08 - Top with additional Oreo pieces and white chips if desired.
09 - Bake in the center of the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers are still soft.
10 - Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
