Scotcheroos Butterscotch Chocolate Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
02 - 1 cup light corn syrup
03 - 1 cup peanut butter
04 - 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
05 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
06 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - 11 ounce bag butterscotch chips
09 - 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

# Instructions:

01 - Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
02 - Place 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
03 - Add light corn syrup, peanut butter, packed light brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt to a medium-sized sauce pot. Place the pot over medium-low heat and stir constantly until fully melted.
04 - Remove the pot from heat and immediately stir in vanilla extract.
05 - Pour the melted mixture into the bowl with the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir thoroughly with a wooden spoon until the cereal is evenly coated.
06 - Gently press the cereal mixture into the prepared baking dish. Avoid pressing too firmly to prevent overly dense bars. Set aside.
07 - Add butterscotch chips and semi-sweet chocolate chips to a medium-sized sauce pot. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until fully melted and smooth.
08 - Pour the melted topping over the cereal mixture in the baking dish and spread evenly.
09 - Allow the bars to cool and set for at least 2 hours. Cut into bars and serve.
