Slow Cooker Smothered Chicken (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 packet brown gravy mix
02 - 1 cup water
03 - 6 large bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 3 pounds)
04 - 1 large white onion, diced
05 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
06 - 2 teaspoons garlic powder
07 - 2 teaspoons onion powder
08 - 1 teaspoon paprika
09 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
10 - 1 teaspoon salt
11 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
12 - 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced

# Instructions:

01 - Add the gravy packet and water to the bottom of a slow cooker and whisk until combined.
02 - Place the diced onion and minced garlic into the slow cooker followed by the chicken thighs. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper evenly over the chicken thighs.
03 - Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
04 - During the last hour of cooking, add the sliced mushrooms to the slow cooker.
05 - Serve over mashed potatoes or cooked pasta.

# Notes:

01 - Boneless, skinless chicken breasts can be used, but cooking time may need to be reduced.
