Grandma's Texas Sheet Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup margarine
02 - 1 cup water
03 - 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
04 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
05 - 2 large eggs, beaten
06 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
07 - 2 cups granulated sugar
08 - 1/2 cup sour cream

→ Frosting

09 - 1/2 cup margarine
10 - 6 tablespoons milk
11 - 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
12 - 1 cup chopped walnuts
13 - 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
14 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375F. Butter and flour (or spray with nonstick spray) a 10x15x2 inch baking pan (jelly roll pan) and set aside.
02 - In a large saucepan, bring to a boil 1 cup margarine, 1 cup water, and 4 tablespoons cocoa powder. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Add 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 large beaten eggs, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 cups granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup sour cream to the saucepan. Mix everything together well.
03 - Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet and bake on the middle oven rack for about 22-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool for at least 10-15 minutes before preparing the frosting.
04 - In a saucepan, bring to boil 1/2 cup margarine, 6 tablespoons milk, and 4 tablespoons cocoa powder. Remove from heat and add in 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional), 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat well until the ingredients are combined.
05 - Immediately pour the frosting over the warm cake. Let cool until the frosting is set. Then cut and serve.
