Greek tomato rice classic (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Basic Ingredients

01 - 1 onion
02 - 2 garlic cloves
03 - 2 vine tomatoes
04 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
05 - 1 tablespoon tomato paste
06 - 1 1/4 cups (250g) rice (long grain)
07 - 1 1/4 cups (300g) strained tomatoes
08 - 1 1/4 cups (300ml) vegetable broth

→ Seasonings

09 - 1 teaspoon sweet paprika powder
10 - 3 tablespoons gyros seasoning (or oregano, thyme, cumin and coriander)
11 - Salt
12 - Pepper
13 - Pinch of sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Finely chop the onion and garlic. Dice the tomatoes, removing the core.
02 - Heat olive oil in a pot and sauté the onions and garlic. Stir in the tomato paste.
03 - Add rice, tomatoes, strained tomatoes, vegetable broth, paprika powder and gyros seasoning and bring to a boil. Simmer covered over medium heat for 20-25 minutes. Stir occasionally and add a little more water if needed. Season the tomato rice with salt, pepper and sugar.
