Brown Sugar Bacon Smokies (Print Version)

01 - 1 (16 oz) package little smokies sausages
02 - 1 lb thin-cut bacon, each slice cut into three
03 - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
04 - Freshly grated black pepper, to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Grease a baking dish or sheet pan with nonstick spray and preheat oven to 350°F. Alternatively, you can line the pan with foil if desired.
02 - Pat sausages dry, then wrap each sausage with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
03 - Add brown sugar to a large zip-top bag. Add a few of the bacon-wrapped sausages and shake to coat. Remove sausages, place on prepared pan, and repeat with remaining sausages.
04 - Season sausages with freshly grated black pepper, if desired.
05 - Bake the sausages in the preheated oven until the bacon has browned, about 30-35 minutes. If crispier bacon is desired, broil for a few minutes to achieve additional browning.
06 - Transfer sausages to a serving plate and enjoy immediately.

01 - Use nonstick spray or foil to simplify cleanup.
02 - For spicier flavor, consider adding a dash of cayenne pepper to the brown sugar before coating.
