My holiday chocolate mousse reindeer puts a big smile on everyone’s face, not just the kids. That creamy chocolate mix and those cute little reindeer details always steal the show at my holiday table. It’s a sweet treat that makes adults and kids light up.

Magical Time for Sweets

The best thing here? Super simple to get ready. Pop that mousse in the fridge while we take our time eating together. Later, the playful reindeer faces get laughs and grins all around.

You’ll Need These

  • For topping: 50 g dark chocolate red berries candy eyes.
  • Mousse base: 200 g dark chocolate 3 eggs 50 g sugar 200 ml cream 2 tbsp water.

This Is How It Works

Finish it up
Top mousse with chocolate antlers, candies for nose, and the sugar eyes so it looks like a reindeer.
Build the mousse
Separate eggs, beat the cream and the whites until fluffy. Melt chocolate and mix with yolks, sugar, and water then fold in the whipped cream and whites. Chill the mousse.
Decorate
Melt chocolate, pipe out antlers, and let them harden.

No-Fail Results

Good chocolate makes all the difference. Let your melted chocolate cool off a little, then you’ll get that awesome creamy texture. You can totally prep the decorations the day before.

Playful Decorations

Piping bags are great for making the antlers but a spoon works too if that’s easier. Little raspberry noses and cute candy eyes give the reindeer look, and kids especially get a kick out of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

→ Can I prep the mousse ahead of time?

Yep, you can chill it up to a whole day before. Just wait to add all the cute toppings until you're ready to serve.

→ Which chocolate works best for this?

If you use a dark chocolate with about 50-70% cocoa, you'll get the best taste. Go for something really good quality if you can.

→ Any tips for folding everything in?

Be gentle when you fold in the egg whites and cream. That's how you keep the mousse so light. Don't stir too much!
