Ground Turkey Teriyaki Stir Fry (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Teriyaki Sauce

01 - 1/4 cup soy sauce
02 - 3 tablespoons brown sugar
03 - 1 cup water, divided
04 - 2 tablespoons honey
05 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated or minced
07 - 2 tablespoons cornstarch
08 - 1 tablespoon orange zest

→ Stir Fry

09 - 1 pound ground turkey
10 - 2 teaspoons sesame oil
11 - 3 cups broccoli florets, fresh or frozen
12 - 1 small onion, diced
13 - 1 cup shredded carrots
14 - Salt and pepper to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Combine 3/4 cup water, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, honey, and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir to combine. Bring to a low boil. Whisk 1/4 cup water and cornstarch together until dissolved. Slowly stir in the cornstarch mixture and allow to thicken. Remove from heat, stir in orange zest, and set aside.
02 - Heat sesame oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté for several minutes until softened. Add ground turkey and cook until fully browned and no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes, ensuring it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Add broccoli and carrots, cooking until tender. Reduce heat to low and stir in the prepared teriyaki sauce. Simmer for several minutes before serving.
03 - Serve the stir fry hot over rice, cauliflower rice, noodles, or use as filling for lettuce wraps as desired.

# Notes:

01 - Ground chicken, pork, or beef can be substituted for turkey. If using beef, drain excess grease after browning.
02 - Add spice by including cayenne, red pepper flakes, or sriracha.
03 - Incorporate additional vegetables such as bell peppers, snow peas, baby corn, or others to taste.
04 - If the teriyaki sauce is too thick, stir in additional water until the desired consistency is achieved.
