07 - 3 tablespoons melted vegetable shortening
08 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
09 - 1 large egg

10 - 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
11 - 2 tablespoons milk, plus more as needed
12 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
13 - ¼ teaspoon almond extract
14 - 3 cups powdered sugar

→ For Frying

15 - 1 quart vegetable oil

# Let's Cook!:

01 - Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
02 - Whisk buttermilk, shortening, vanilla, and egg until combined. Add to dry ingredients, mix just until combined.
03 - Roll dough ½-inch thick on floured surface. Cut with donut cutter.
04 - Fry at 365-375°F for 1½-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
05 - Mix glaze ingredients until smooth. Dip warm doughnuts, place on wire rack to set.
